Support Without Seeing the Data

When the hospital system goes down, the support engineer has to connect to the live database. Quentra masks sensitive data at query time.

The problem

An ordinary morning at the City Hospital ends at 10:42: screens freeze with 'Database Timeout', patient registration stops, queues grow. The IT manager calls the software vendor: urgent remote support is needed.

What Quentra did

The support engineer connects to the live database remotely to find the fault; there is no other way. But the patient table opened for diagnosis also lays out names, national IDs, phone numbers, addresses and diagnoses. The engineer came to fix an outage, and a full-scale privacy risk appeared with the connection.

The result

With Quentra in place the same connection flows through Quentra and Data Sentinel steps in: the query doesn't change, the application doesn't change; sensitive fields are masked as the results return. The engineer fixes the outage; but whoever runs the query, personal data never passes the shield.
